Thu November 8, 2018

Kahului Airport- OGG, is a regional airport in the state of Hawai’i, United States, located east of Kahului CDP in Maui County on the island of Maui near Haleakala. It has offered full airport operations since 1952. Most flights into Kahului Airport originate from Daniel K. Inouye International Airport in Honolulu; the Honolulu–Kahului corridor is one of the busiest air routes in the US.

For the past 3 years Maui county alongside the state of Hawaii and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has been working together on a grand plan to transform the OGG airport in Kahului to an international airport that would serve airlines with direct flights from all over the south pacific, far east and the rest of the world. Instead of having to go threw the honolulu airport, passengers will be able to board direct flights to Kahului, Maui.

In order for the OGG airport in Kahului Maui to be approved as an international airport on the federal level the FAA would have to extend the existing runways to an international airport specified length, In order to achieve this task the County of Maui, the state of Hawaii and the federal government came up with a plan to build temporary runways on nearby land while the FAA is working on extending the existing runways making them suited for bigger continental airplanes.

In addition to the new terminals and runways, the county of Maui, the state of Hawaii and privately owned companies are finishing up a huge state of the art parking lot specially designed to accommodate franchised car rental companies such as Avis, Enterprise, Budget, Sixst, etc.. The parking lot is built 4 stories high to accommodate hundreds of rental cars, it is equipped with car washing stations, gas pumps, front desks and much more. It is completely secured and very well built.

Tourists will be able to step outside baggage claim of the newly remodeled, top of the line international airport of Kahului into an electric tram that will drop them off right at the front desk of their rental car company. On the other hand, rental car companies of the OGG airport will be able to enjoy waves of new comers from all over the world on direct flights to Kahului Maui.

Thanks to this new airport Maui’s local businesses like Go Rent-a-Car Maui will be able to prosper, expand and serve costumers from all around the globe.

Aloha and Welcome To Maui!
